Our Engagement Session :)

Hi everyone!

Wow, it's been so long since my last blog post! I've decided to post regularly with varying topics - random and personal, so come by to see my latest updates! :)

Today, I'm sharing our engagement shoot that we took a few months ago at Mount Tamalpais, with our dear friend Hamee Ha Photography (you definitely need to check out her work! IG : @hameeha)! Mt. Tam is filled with soft windblown grass and a view of an endless ocean, so I wanted to wear something soft (in color and texture) and flowy. I found the perfect dress at Anthropologie to create this look! Chris also wore a grey and pink plaid shirt, layered with a light grey sweater to match my dress. We are definitely not the PDA couple, so I have to say, it was a bit awkward in front of the camera! Let me know what you think -- do we look awkward??

The only caption that comes to mind for this one : "Yipee!"

Whimsical Sherbert Garden Wedding Inspiration

Today, I'm sharing a special project I worked on with the best team of vendors! :) We teamed up earlier this year to create a whimsical and pastel wedding inspired styled photoshoot! Through this project, I was able to show my true wedding style, and thankfully enough, was even featured on 100 Layer Cake! Link here

Inspiration : As soon as I stepped into The Shelldance Orchid Gardens, I was immediately captivated by the uniqueness of the greenhouse! The whole design was drawn out to complement the greenness of the diverse plants by incorporating delicate spring hues of peach, blush pink, and coral. I envisioned a chic vintage look with a twist of flirty and fun. One of my favorite parts of designing a wedding is brainstorming all the little details and trinkets! For this shoot, my inspiration came from our model couple, who mentioned that they love to bake and play games together. Right then, I thought of creating a cute "cupcake decorating bar", and a playful "game station", where we set up cupcakes with colorful decor, and a competitive game of Chess with other fun board games. Being a huge sweets fan, I couldn't forget a dessert bar! We used a vintage dresser to showcase all our delicious pink and orange cupcakes and macarons, which ended up looking similar to sherbert ice cream colors, hence the name of our photo shoot - sherbert garden wedding!

A Free-spirited Wedding!

Today, I want to share some photos from Joyce and Niven's wedding! Their wedding was on May 2, 2015 at Heidrun Meadery in pretty Point Reyes. I first met Joyce about two or three weeks before her wedding, and it just so happened that she was looking for a day-of coordinator! The wedding day was so close but I agreed to coordinate her big day, and we finalized everything the week of! Joyce's detail-oriented notes and thoughts about everything definitely helped me to understand her vision. I also enjoyed working with Joyce because of her openness and her laid-back personality! :)

A Bridal Shower Par-tea! :)

I'm so, so, so excited to share this post with everyone today! My childhood friend and partner in crime is getting married this April - wow, can't believe it's in a couple weeks already! As her MOH, I wanted to send her off with zee best festivities, including her bridal shower. Below are a couple snippets from the special day! I couldn't have done all this without the amazing teamwork of one other bridesmaid, Christina! All photos were taken by the talented lifestyle and wedding photographer, Yasmin Sarai (yasminsarai.com)! Thank you for coming again! Priscilla, hope you felt special and loved! :)

Playing the question game! We asked Priscilla and Ted (zee fiance) the same questions and the point of the game was to see if they came up with the same answers! Ted pre-recorded his answers, so there would be no cheating ;)

Adventures in Portlandia!

This past President's Day weekend was spent in Portlandia for my Partner in Crime's Bachelorette Trip! Can't believe she's getting married in less than 2 months! Scroll through to see how we explored this hipster city! :)

First stop: The Waffle Window! This place was probably my favorite eatery!

One savory and one sweet waffle!

Second stop: Salt and Straw for ice cream!

Stumptown coffee ice cream with their homemade waffle cone--YUM!

Third stop: Pok Pok for some Thai food!

Literally, chicken wings..haha

Noodles!

Fourth stop: At this point we were so full, we decided to explore downtown and ended up at Powells Books--love this place! Here's the bride-to-be doing some reading on..dogs?? haha

Here's a bridesmaid...not reading at all!

And me..reading about the best american essays! puahaha

Fifth stop: Boxer Ramen-- the spicy miso ramen was so delicious, along with the okonomiyaki tots!

Sixth stop: After dinner, we did some shopping and spotted this nice view of Portlandia!

First stop: Our second day began at Mother's Bistro and Bar for some yummy breakfast! Aren't the chandeliers so pretty??

SALMON HASH.

Second stop: Stumptown Coffee where the hipsters go!

Third stop: I don't have a photo of this, but we went to church after Stumptown! It was exciting because it was a diverse church--worship was definitely soulful! haha

Fourth stop: Blue Star Donuts! Can't leave Portland without a donut experience!

Spot on.

Fifth stop: Multnomah Falls!

I made these matching iron-on hoodies for us! The back says TEAMBRIDEPC :)

Here's the bride sporting her hoodie! Front says BRIDE in glittery silver!

Bride and her MOH :)

Sixth stop: After hiking 1 mile to the top of the waterfall and back, we went back to our hotel to change and get ready for dinner at The Picnic House! Cool thing about this place--they normally do not open on Sundays, except for the Sunday we were there. Since this information was not publicized, the only customers were us and another table! It was completely empty, where otherwise it would have been super packed, and we received excellent service!

Overall,  I had a fun time in Portland and would go again in a heartbeat! #teambridepc :)

Modern Engagement Photoshoot in the City!

Today, I want to share Hannah and Harry's engagement photos which were taken in the city by Richard Park (www.richardpark-photography.com)! Hannah was a guest at a wedding I planned last year, and she was also the lucky girl who caught the bouquet! Crazy enough, Harry proposed the next day and she said yes!! Although, Hannah is currently in SoCal, it has been a smooth journey planning her wedding, thanks to her openness to any and all ideas, and her trust in me as her planner! :)

Major photobomb by her twin sister! Haha!

Vintage Backyard Wedding

Today, I want to share Christine and Donald's wedding video! Video created by Paul Chung of ThreeLightGuide Films! This backyard wedding took place at Bella Vista of Almaden in San Jose last August. I had so much fun planning with Christine, and brainstorming vintage ideas! I particularly enjoyed creating all the decorations and crafts! :)

Christmas Cooking!

Merry belated Christmas! :)

This year, our family decided to celebrate Christmas at home with just the four of us (no aunts, uncles, or cousins)! Since we're not big meat eaters, I decided to make spinach and artichoke lasagna, butter and lemon shrimp, and a fresh salad!

All rolled up and ready to be baked!

Baby Girl Shower

Last December, I had the privilege of coordinating Aileen and Minho's wedding, and just last week, I was asked to help make decorations for their baby shower! I started the day by making a visit to the Oakland Flower Market to pick out some pretty flowers, and then stopped by Amanda (@justbakecause)'s to pick up the yummy desserts! We went for a pink jungle theme! :)

The dessert table was filled with strawberry and vanilla cupcakes, lemon bars, rice krispy pops, circus animal cookies, and donut holes!

Congratulations to the mom-and-dad-to-be! :)

On another note...

I spent Thanksgiving Day in Carmel with my family!

Carmel is filled with cute houses like this!

Enjoyed creamy pasta for lunch!

Cheese!

A happy Mama Jung!

Indoor Venue Fun

One of my favorite parts of wedding planning is being able to see all the cool and pretty venues out there! :) I'm currently planning a wedding for next summer, and the couple has requested an indoor venue. Personally, I love outdoor weddings, so I thought the venue hunt wouldn't be interesting, but to my surprise, I have found a new found love for indoor venues! The good thing about indoor venues is that there's more flexibility to decorate the space to your liking! Also, weather conditions would never be an issue! Many indoor venues are empty spaces with so much potential! Here are a few:

The Crush Room on Treasure Island

The Vista SF on Treasure Island

San Jose Museum of Art

San Francisco Film Centre

Love this blue bench at the Allied Arts Guild in Menlo Park!

This isn't a venue, but I really like this random plant wall! :)

Another random photo...haha, but these bright food colors are so pretty! I snacked on these while others were shucking and slurping up oysters! Bread & cheese > Oysters!

At the Elizabeth Gamble Garden in Palo Alto! :)

Boy or girl?

I was fortunate enough to be a part of a baking project with my very good baker friend, Trang!

We were asked to do a dessert table for a gender neutral baby shower! :)

The desserts created were sweet and sour lemon bars, crunchy and colorful rice krispy treats, and chocolately oreo pops! Decorations were made primarily with the colors yellow and green to reflect a gender neutral shower.

The night before the baby shower, I went over to Trang's house to help assemble the main dessert...THE CAKE! We didn't even notice the time flying by; we were too busy cutting out fondant pieces while listening to some BSB! :)

Below are some photos of the baker at work and the final display!

I'm just SO excited for the fall and winter, I had to include a "fall" theme photo!

Coffee

Hello!

My first blog post is dedicated to two hipster coffee cafes: Sightglass Coffee in SF and Big Mug in SJ. I love pretending to be hipster, and having meetings at these cafes..sipping on coffee that is way too bitter for my liking. :)
