Averie’s First Birthday (Dohl)
First birthdays are hugely celebrated in the Korean culture, and is called “dohl”. For this special baby girl’s birthday, we were inspired to create a garden look, filled with lush florals and lots of pink, lilacs, and hints of French blue. This elegant first birthday event took place in the beautiful fountain courtyard of The Lafayette Hotel. All the guests enjoyed the warm weather and a delicious 3-course lunch.
For our main dessert table, we chose to create a custom pink ombre backdrop, crafted by Kelly Design Co, and adorned by greenery and peachy florals by Flower Story. We filled this farm table by Seventh Heaven Vintage Rentals with sweet cakes and cupcakes, created by Etta Avenue Cakes. These desserts were placed on white and pink cakes stands by Julia’s Cake Stand Rentals, which brought a cohesive look. Guests enjoyed creating their own floral bouquets at our flower market station, while snacking on delicious cupcakes. The festivities ended with singing Happy Birthday to the birthday girl, and Averie trying cake for the first time.
